There is a broad meaning to the Hatadage “Heta” means sixty, and it may have contained sixty relics and images of the Buddha. The building belongs to the Polonnaruwa Kingdom. The builders of this place are great Parakramabahu I or even Nissanka Malla. The Hetadage has two floors. Much of the building must have been made of wood in Hetadage. There were once sixteen stone pillars in this section of the Hetadage structure, but now only three half-destroyed ones remain. This includes a beautiful moonstone and two Naga stones. This becomes a more tourist attraction place due to the historical value of the place.
