The Somawathiya is a Buddhist Stupa situated city of Polonnaruwa. It is located within Somawathiya National Park. This has been built by king Dutugemunu by enshrining the right canine Relic of the Tooth of Buddha. Somawathiya is older stupa located in Pollonaruwa such as Ruwanwelisaya, Mirisawetiya and Jetawanaramaya. Color and the size of the Somawathiya stupa created more tourist attraction towards it.
